Yes, that's the intent.

It may happen this way: I'll write a paper or some similar kind of
document before too long, and since `@scheme[...]' and `@itemize{}' now
spill out of my fingers instead of `\scheme{}' and `\begin{itemize}', I
will smooth some of Scribble's rough edges to better support different
kinds of documents.

Or maybe someone will get to it before me. Volunteers are welcome.

I suppose so, though Scribble obviously builds on LaTeX for
paper-friendly output.
