[plt-scheme] Regarding Y combinator

I have a student that wishes to study chaos and I've
been doing some reading in the field.  The concept of
iterated maps discussed in my nonlinear dynamics book
reminds of the recursive functions of scheme and the
notion of a fixed point in chaos theory seems to be
similar in nature to the Y-combinator?  Can anybody
tell me if there is a connection there?
