Not true, IIUC.  I've made numerous bug fixes to the PLT repository 
version, and added an incomplete test suite using a possibly outdated 
version of schemeunit.  Just a few weeks ago, I added the latest leap 
second. As far as I know, the schematics version does not incorporate 
my changes.

Does that successfully talk you out of it?

BTW, I agree wholeheartedly that the reference implementation is 
defective; nearly every function I've added tests for has turned out to 
have bugs.
