[plt-scheme] Unable to run the 103p1 version on SuSE 10

Hi!
I know, I am still messing up with a pre-historic version, namely
103p1. I was able to compile and run it with the Senora garbage
collector on 2.6 kernels, when the Boehm GC always segfaulted as soon
as the app started.
So things run OK on 2.6.8 and so kernels, for instance on my Debian
unstable, on FC3 and FC4 distros also.
But now we're moving to SuSE 10.0, with a 2.6.13 kernel. ANd I am able
to compile, with a few workarounds, but mred and mzscheme both
segfault as soon as they are started.
We tried to compile after a "./configure --enable-sgc" _and_ without,
and there is no way we can get it to work. I also patched the src
directory as indicated by Alex Ott (see the thread we had about this
problem in the January 2005 archive), without further success.

So that I'm lost, once again. Do you have any clue or piece of advice, please ?
Thanks.

JB

P.S. I perfectly know that 103p1 is no longer supported, but for
educational and practical reasons my colleagues want to stick to this
version... :-(
