Thanks! That will take some time to digest, but it looks like an
excellent starting point for exploring exact reals. I had found
a couple of implementations already, but all in languages I either
don't know or strongly dislike.

Indeed... It's after your visit that I started to look seriously
at Scheme for the first time, so it's partly your fault that I am
writing this e-mail now ;-)
