Thanks for the feedback, Greg and Jorge.

Greg's points are resolved in version "1:1".

Regarding Windows, turns out that this package does not support Windows 
at this time.  (The Windows build of VLC 2.0.3 has disabled the RC 
interface that this package uses, due to technical problems in RC's 
implementation on Windows.)  GNU/Linux and Mac OS X work, however.
