Well, I've got a WikiCreole parser at <http://planet.racket-lang.org/display.ss?package=squicky.plt&owner=nxg>.  I can sort-of see how I'd generalise that to cope with markdown, and have from time to time thought of implementing that.

Does that look like the sort of thing you mean?  It's the first and so-far only thing I've put on PLaneT, so would be very happy to take criticism!
