[plt-scheme] Help Desk search broken in Chrome

I believe Chrome recently changed in a way that broke the search code
-- well, to be precise, the search was broken all along, but a
primitive that used to return a default value now signals an
exception. The next release (due relatively soon) should bring you
back to the old, mostly-working state when using Chrome.
