FYI, skimming over this wikipedia entry reminded me of a related topic
that Schneier recently discussed under the label 'self-enforcing
protocols':

Well-known example: To share a cake in a fair way between two persons,
one of them cuts it into two pieces and the other one is allowed to
choose the piece he likes.
