I'd advocate HtDP in high school as a way to teach better thinking and
better programming, not so much as a way to promote general use of
Scheme (although that's a side-effect).

Someone could develop the HtDP "Python Companion" (love the name), to be
consulted when someone brought up on HtDP needs to bang out code that
they'd be embarrassed to taint Scheme with. :)
