You could use the Gmane archive of the list, which supports searching.  The
PLT list can be found at:

   http://news.gmane.org/gmane.lisp.scheme.plt

Also, you can use Google with "site:list.cs.brown.edu" included in the search
query.  (NB this searches all the lists hosted on list.cs.brown.edu, so you
might include "plt" as a search term for best results.)
