[plt-scheme] MzScheme 201 install troubles on iMac with Mac OS 8.6

hi,

I've installed 201 twice on win2k this week without problems and am enthused
-- looks really great.

tried to install it on this 3-year-old iMac with 96Mb under Mac OS 8.6.

with a big app or two running (e.g. IE5) the installer complains it doesn't
have enough memory. with no apps running there is no complaint, but it
apparently just stops.

any ideas?

is this machine too old, inadequate or out of date?
