[plt-dev] bug with `scale' in slideshow

Right now, the `scale' function in slideshow is very broken.  Here's a
screenshot.  It appears to be scaling the bounding box, but not
drawing the image any differently, so it just crops the image.  This
appears not to happen on OSX; I haven't tried Windows.
