Streaming and recording dissertation defenses should be How It's Done. 
There were plenty of people who wanted to be there but couldn't: PLT 
friends, friends and family who have moved away, people with scheduling 
conflicts (such as my previous advisor), etc. This was all Jay's idea. 
Major props.

Also, I'm a doctor! Bwahahaha!
