[plt-scheme] FFI - OS Threads - Feature

Dear All,

Would it be possible and desirable to have a feature in the FFI
to call a C function with a given result in a C using an OS thread
and wait for the result in scheme, so that it is possible to leave
a blocking C function running for a while, while still be able to
process the scheme threads?
