The important thing is that every individual developer tries. Perhaps
it starts with unit tests, or even adding version control to the
technology stack. One has to start somewhere; especially when one is
facing a tidal-wave of obstacles to writing maintainable code.

One of the biggest obstacles is the "not my problem" syndrome which
has contaminated many developers.
