On my Mac...

This loses the colors but keeps the formatting:
- Print, Preview.
- Now in Preview, Select All, Copy.
- Open Word, File, New Blank Document, Paste.

This keeps the colors but loses the formatting:
- Print, PDF, Save as PDF.
- Open the PDF in Acrobat Reader, Select All, Copy.
- Open Word, File, New Blank Document, Paste.

Later, I found slatex produces very nice output.  I bet you could  
make a style that says you can have any color you like so long as  
it's black.
