Then you believe that the diversity of preferences and wired-in biases
in the anticipated user population is sufficiently small that taking a
"one model fits all" approach is feasible?  In other words, that with
enough work, research, etc., etc. you can find a *single* model that
fits (almost) everyone sufficiently well that it would be preferable to
anything else?  Interesting.  My past dealings with human factors
research and recommendations leads me to the other conclusion -- Your
mileage not only *may* vary, it *will* vary.
