Other than getting a new monitor (or a second monitor) a cheap hack,
if you use Firefox, is to setup a per-domain CSS rule. See here, for

IIRC one of the criteria for Scribble was to make the rendering
consistent across browsers and platforms, and this motivated the
fixed-width text.
